  • Project Synthesis
  • The ARISEN - Innovation in Lubrication for Sustainable Manufacturing project is an international project developed with the support of the SMART EUREKA initiative.
  • This project aims to achieve chipping cutting processing and sustainable manufacturing of titanium alloys and aluminum alloys with a minimal amount of lubricant (MQL), based on a new mineral oil-free and biodegradable lubricant.
  • The Turkish company Belgin Oil will be responsible for the development of the new biodegradable lubricant.

Portugal Autocluster for the Future (PAC)

  • SCOPE
  • PAC – Portugal Autocluster for the Future (PAC) Project is a mobilizing project led by Simoldes – Plastics, S.A and closely aligned with “Mobinov Cluster – Portuguese Automotive Cluster’s action plan. Through a set of 6 PPS, it aims to develop, test, and demonstrate a new generation of technologies, processes, and products, leveraging the competitiveness level of the entities operating within the automotive sector in Portugal and their position in a worldwide context. The technologies to be developed a focus on the areas of future vehicles architectures, interiors of the future, structures and exteriors of the future, connectivity and sensor technologies, and flexible and digital production technologies. This mobilizing project was structured with a duration of 36 months. It has a consortium consisting of 12 non-profit organizations and 9 business entities endowed with scientific and technological skills capable of achieving the proposed goals, accomplishing a multisectoral and multiregional dimension and impact.
  • OBJECTIVES
  • PPS1 – New vehicle ‘architectures of the future: Develop, test and demonstrate new concepts and new ways of products development and validation, taking into account the connected, electric and autonomous car trends.
  • PPS2 – Interiors of the future: Develop, test and demonstrate new materials and new processes in nuclear areas of the national automotive cluster, following the trend of third living space.
  • PPS3 – Structures and exteriors of the future: Develop, test and demonstrate new materials and new processes in nuclear areas of the national automotive cluster, specifically as structures.
  • PPS4 – Sensing and connectivity technologies: Empowering the industry for new skills in connectivity and sensing´s area.
  • PPS5 – Flexible and digital production technologies: Develop, test and demonstrate new technologies, methodologies and processes for the digital transformation of the national automotive cluster, in the context of industry 4.0.
  • PPS6 – Management, coordination and dissemination: Ensure PAC Project´s management and coordination, namely in terms of technical-scientific, administrative and financial management, as well as wide demonstration of results.

Stamping Cutoff Detection – Innovative anomaly detection system for stamped parts

  • SCOPE
  • The scope of this project is the metal stamped parts process by means of presses and progressive tools.
  • OBJECTIVES
  • The project main goal is to investigate and develop an anomaly detection system for stamped parts, through sensors incorporated in the means of production that allow the detection of leaks immediately inside the tool.

TOOLING 4G – Advanced Tools for Smart Manufacturing

SCOPE

  • The TOOLING 4G Project includes 19 companies from the molds and plastics sectors, a software company and 11 non-business entities, including 1 sector entity and 10 entities of the National Science and
  • Technology System, with an innovation curriculum, around a industry and cluster.
  • It seeks to generate knowledge, anticipate and accelerate innovative capabilities and solutions for the international market within Cluster Engeering & Tooling.
  • The innovation of TOOLING 4G is focused on tooling value chains and involves:
  • - New molds and tools (integration);
  • - New processes and technologies of production and automation;
  • - New forms of organization of the productive system "tooling".
  • It is also expected to develop several innovations focused mainly on the materials, products and processes and in the endogenization of the technologies and organizational paradigms usually included in the concept of Industry 4.0.
  • >The project is supported by ANI through the Incentive System for Business R & D - Mobilizing Programs and co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) through COMPETE2020 and Lisbon2020.

  •  SCOPE
  • The occurrence of defects in cold metal stamping components is the major inefficiency factor of this operation, leading to high unproductiveness and unforeseen costs that diminishes the competitiveness of companies in a demanding and often relentless market.
  • Given the impact and frequency that this incidents cause in companies’ business, it is urgent to develop methods that minimize its recurrence.
 
  • OBJECTIVES
  • The SafeForming project aims to create and make available a methodology for predicting the occurrence of cracks and other defects in the stamping of parts for the automotive industry, in particular thick parts of high strength steels.
